USU to Host SCORE San Diego’s Workshop on Patents, Copyrights and Trademarks – Tuesday, April 18th, 2017

United States University is proud to host SCORE San Diego’s workshop, “Patents, Copyrights and Trademarks” on Tuesday, April 18th from 1pm – 4pm.
This workshop will discuss the proper use of Provisional Patent Applications, differences between Utility and Design patents, effective use of the PCT, Madrid Protocol and trademark filings. It will also give tips of how to minimize legal expenses and maximize legal protection.
The workshop will be run by Eric Hanscom, a patent and trademark attorney at Hanscom, Alexeev & McDaniel LLP, a California-based law firm, demystifies the complex landscape of patents, trademarks and copyrights in this discussion. Eric has decades of experience as an attorney, most of it as a patent attorney focusing on intellectual property. As an intellectual property attorney, Eric has successfully filed and prosecuted thousands of patents, trademarks and copyrights for its clients in more than 50 countries.
SCORE is a volunteer, non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the success of small business in both San Diego and Imperial Counties. They provide free and confidential business assistance to both prospective entrepreneurs and existing small business owners, as well as conduct a variety of low-cost workshops on how to establish and manage successful businesses.
