Meet Your Student Advocates
The most powerful Student Services tool you have at USU is the Student Advocate. The Student Advocate strives to listen carefully to your concerns, explain relevant policies and procedures, and provide guidance. The Student Advocate is here to help make sure you have the resources and information you need to be successful. Take a moment to meet the advocates and learn how they can help you achieve your goals.
My name is Karla Vega. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in both English Literature and Communications from the University of California, San Diego. I started at US University in the summer of 2010 in the Admissions Department. I then moved into Student Services and have enjoyed helping students accomplish their educational goals. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, participating in running events and spending time with my friends and loved ones. As your advocate, I am available to help with any questions you may have, and would enjoy helping you through your educational journey.
My name is Vy Yamat. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications from National University. I started at USU in October 2015. I truly believe in education and love being able to assist others in their goals, hopes, and dreams. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband and son at Sea World or any of the kid friendly activities around San Diego. If you have questions or ever need to talk please don’t hesitate to contact me.
