Position Summary

Reporting to the VP of Enrollment Management and Student Services under limited supervision, the Community College Outreach Manager is directly responsible for increasing positive awareness of United States University (USU) and generating interest in USU’s degree programs through corporate, community college and community outreach activities in San Diego & Los Angles

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, plan and execute strategic corporate, college and community outreach plans that will generate leads for USU
  • Develop key relationships though effective phone, email and face-to-face communication with key decision makers
  • Serve as the university liaison with corporate partners, community colleges and other key groups
  • Develop and deliver presentations to small and large groups
  • Generate qualified leads and manage lead database
  • Represent USU at events, meetings, fairs, trade shows, hospitals, healthcare facilities, etc
  • Promote and participate in university events and information sessions
  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent

Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors required
  • Experience in higher education preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Proven track record in outside sales

General Skills:

  • Must be a hands-on, self-directed, organized and conscientious individual
  • Strong time management and organizational skills in a dynamic, constantly changing environment
  • Must be able to think and work both tactically and strategically to provide financial and operational needs to the University’s business
  • Effective analytical problem solving and decision making skills; ability to read, write and analyze complex documents
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries, customer/student inquiries or complaints as well as communicate effectively both orally and in writing with management, peers and individuals
  • Ability to work effectively, exhibit a professional manner and establish constructive working relationships
  • Attention to detail and quality focus

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must hold a valid driver’s license

Work Environment

The essential functions of the job are usually performed in an environmentally controlled facility where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position may involve working in a combination of office and classroom environments.

While performing the job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee may sometimes be required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
