Business Development Manager

Position Summary

Plan, direct, and/or coordinate business development policies and programs including campaigns to generate student enrollment.  Generate visibility to identify, attract and convert potential candidates interested in pursuing higher education.  Monitor and analyze trends that indicate popular or desired programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Organize, coordinate and project manage a wide range of campaigns to identify, attract and convert potential students interested in pursuing a higher education degree
  • Identify, develop and/or evaluate marketing/business development and recruitment strategy based on established objectives, market characteristics and cost factors
  • Formulate or coordinate research of target markets, pursue leads and follow through to convert leads to students
  • Identify, negotiate and contract with potential business partnerships
  • Conduct research and market/competitive analysis to progress business strategy on the recruitment and conversion of potential students and business partnerships
  • Prepares and presents reports on leads, conversions and missed opportunities. Monitor and analyze trends that indicate popular or desired programs
  • Evaluate and advises leadership on financial aspects of marketing/business development budgetary issues and numbers
  • Collaborates with functional areas to develop creative product plan/strategy and implementation to improve/increase university visibility
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 year’s previous experience; preferably in an institution of higher education
  • Bilingual a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing and promoting academic environments and related markets
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a high level of professional integrity
  • Strong time management and organizational skills in a dynamic, constantly changing environment
  • Attention to detail and quality focus

Work Environment

The essential functions of the job are usually performed in an environmentally controlled facility where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position may involve working in a combination of office and classroom environments.

While performing the job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee may sometimes be required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
